John Reasor
John Reasor, a Shorthorn enthusiast, is from Wildwood, Georgia. A fourth generation cattleman, he has chosen to dedicate his time and effort into the Shorthorn breed. John, the son of Steven and Melissa Reasor, will be a high school sophomore at A Beka Academy. He has both an older brother and sister. Their herd consists of 10 purebred Shorthorn females and 10 recips. He continues to further his livestock education by attending the University of Georgia’s Livestock Summer Camp as well as participating in the Knowledge Empowers Youth (KEY) Conference. Two of his most memorable moments were from the 2010 Shorthorn Junior Nationals which were held in East Lansing, Michigan. John was awarded the honor of Champion Bred & Owned Heifer as well as being elected for a three year term in the National Shorthorn Junior Board. His most shocking moment came at the National Western, where he won his division in the junior Shorthorn heifer show. His advice to younger youth who are interested in being involved in the livestock industry is to find a mentor who can help you along the way. This is one of the best ways to learn about the industry, and a great way to lead to a lifelong friendship. In his free time John enjoys photography, cooking, and dirt bike riding.
